My good friend Mike Vihon from Bike/Powder Magazine was killed in a car accident 3 days ago. Mike was a fantastic person with a quick wit and an easy smile, He had the languid demeanor of a surfer and he will be missed tremendously by all those who knew him. The news of his passing devastated me, but it also gave me a glimpse into that all-too-rare realm of clarity. Friends, take nothing for granted in this life, seize every opportunity to tell the important people in your life how much they mean to you. Tell your parents how much you love them. Tell your brothers, your sisters, your dogs, your cats, your girlfriends and boyfriends that they are truly in your heart.
