All sorts of Chit

Posted August 30, 2005 @ 6:06am

Here's a nooze flash:Thursday, October 13 at the 400 Bar in Minneapolis: ZEKE w/NASHVILLE PUSSY. Too bad it's at the worst possible venue in town, where drinks are expensive, the staff is surly, and you cannot bring messenger bags or backpacks of any kind into the venue. No problem if they would offer a coat check, but they don't. So if you ride your bike to the show, travel light. My personal boycott of this bar will be suspended as you just cannot let a ZEKE show slide. I wonder who is breathing fire on bass for Nashville Pussy these days? Just three days until we leave for the DAKOTA 5-0 in Spearfish, SOUTH Dakota. 50 miles of bone-crushing MOUNTAIN biking in the Blackhills; what could be better?Interbike looms. September 25-30 in beautiful Laws Vengeance, Nevada! Get your Dirt Demo on. I'll be looking for a new 29'er frame and whatever other treasures are deemed necessary by the Minneapolis Mafia. Will there be a new issue of CRC on the table by then? It's possible, but...

McGruff vs. SSWC = Dakota 5-0

Posted August 23, 2005 @ 6:06am

Ok, not enough time here to post all the details, but McGruff got married at the Old Cathedral in St. Louis on Saturday. Chevil, Bootsy, Mac, Simon, Tat + Helen Tat, Geno, Jenny-O, Hannah-O, and myself were all there to witness it. Congratulations Brian & Julie; sorry about Cheever sleeping in your bed on your wedding night... Pix to follow.Over in State College, PA, Jesse LaLonde of Madison, WI and Abigail Hippely of Boulder, CO won the bike portion of the Single Speed World Championship, but overall titles were decided in a Go-Kart showdown. Marla Streb and Buck Owens won the tattoos. Kind of wack in my book, but what do I know about putting on a SSWC event? Regardless, it sounds like a good time was had by all, and kudos to E. Roman and his staff.DAKOTA 5-0 is rapidly approaching. Sunday, Sept. 4. You have less than two weeks to coerce yourself to ride 50 miles in the Black Hills of S.Dak. Believe me, this is a painful event, especially on a single speed.

DAKOTA 5-Oh!

once again, get ready for a Labor Day crusher. 50 miles in the Black Hills, not for the weak:DAKOTA 5-0

The return of OFS

Posted August 2, 2005 @ 6:06am

shitfire! RAGBRAI is over. We killed it. Day one saw a hurricane, day two a tsunami. Followed by headwinds, bloody mary's and enough canned beer to build a dinghy. Anyway, more on that later. The OFS chainstay stickers are back, and all orders will be shipped by the end of this week. Thanks for your patience.
