From local impresario, Girl Carl:The Bicycle Film Festival wants to see your movie. The deadline for entries has been extended to March 1. The BFF is looking for films with a strong theme or character of bicycles. This includes all mediums and styles such as animation, experimental, narrative, documentary and music videos. Kirk Rundstrom R.I.P.

With great sadness I have just learned of the passing of Split Lip Rayfield guitarist Kirk Rundstrom. He had been battling esophageal cancer since early 2006. Our best wishes go out to Kirk Rundstrom's family, friends, bandmates, and fans. It's just not right.

The temps are creeping upward, and since I have Tuesdays free from the grind, I took the Cross-Check out today for a 2.5 hour ride thru western suburbs, road construction, and dog walkers. It felt great to just cruise with no real destination and I also ran some scenarios thru my head for the upcoming Slick 50. Tentative date is either the second or third Saturday in March. 50 mile slog; ride not a race. More nooze at 11...

It's the annual QBP Open Haus weekend, better known as FROSTBIKE. Lots of industry friends are in town to taste some bike culture pie. Tonight, another quiet evening of reflection at One On One Bicycle Studio. Two kegs of green hibiscus tea, along with plenty of natty dressers will be on hand.
