My father, Larry Everson, passed away tonight at the age of 73. I doubt I could express my feelings any clearer, so here is my brother Paul's tribute to our father:
A SON'S TRIBUTE
When the life is gone the love prevails,
when the suffering ends,
the memories abound.
For when I look back and I reflect,
I find solace in the gifts he left..
The singing of Hank Williams my father loved,
And passion for a catcher's glove.
He loved Johnny Cash,
He listened with passion,
He had it in him to live with compassion.
We caught frogs in the stream,
we delivered care packages to the poor,
he always said someone needs more.
I love my father, for he gave me so much,
and now that he's gone, his heart will always touch!
He taught integrity and words of wisdom,
now that he's gone we all will miss him.
The great country music, the baseball and history he craved,
Thanks dad for teaching me the same.
Larry Everson passed away November 27th
The silence of a falling star lights up a purple sky,
and as I wonder where you are,
I'm so lonesome I could cry!
