Dear Family and Friends of Loren, Jenn, Tom, James, and Nancy: I spoke with Jennifer a little after nine this evening, and she informed me that Loren had another good day today. He completed sessions with his occupational and physical therapists; recognized Jenn and smiled when she entered his room this morning; and breathed on his own for 12 hours, without a direct supply of additional oxygen to his lungs. On the gorier side of things, the last of two tubes that were used to drain fluids off his brain has been removed, as have the remaining staples that closed the surgical incision that runs directly over the top of his head. Jenn said that I would not believe he how much better he looks since I've seen him last. His hair is growing back in and he's sporting a bit of a beard. He's turning back into the unwitting hipster he's always been. I can't hardly wait to visit him again. Tomorrow, I'll see Nancy as she detours through Aspen on her way back to Boulder from her home in Moab. Together, we'll put the finishing touches on Loren's blog. Thus far it looks great.
