Las Vegas and beyond

Interbike '03 is long gone, and thanks for that. In the 10 years that I've been heading to this circus, '03 was the first time I wasn't real stoked to hit it. Of course I had a good time in Sin City, and the show was full of cool shit. But I think it's high time Interbike moves this cavalcade to a more central location. I'm thinking Denver. Or Omaha...The coolest thing I saw at the show, or rather the coolest folks were a couple of guys selling folding trailers, in a back corner of the expo. One was from London, one a Scot, and one from Vancouver. The point is, these blokes are serious about increasing mobility improving transportation infrastructure. Be sure to check out www.www.agotob.com for the real deal. Other than that, it was the usual parade of boolshit, bolt-on tits, and free beer. Coolest bike? A toss up between Maverick's Emma-ML-7, a 20" wheel version of their bitchen trail bike that P.T. built up for his daughter Emma's 7th birthday, and the chrome-plated Brooklyn...

So Cockleburr won another race, what else is new? Congratulations, Champ. Meanwhile, we will be absconding to Las Vegas, via Oakland today, for the 2003 Interbike Tradeshow. Said Champion, along with the Mayor of Drunkingham, and myself, will be commandeering the Bianchi payload to Las Vegas for the DIrt Demo and beyond. If you're attending the demo, drop by the Bianchi tent to see the new PINK CRC shirt and the GET RAD shirt, both very limited editions of 50. Also available will be the new wool tallboy CRC socks, and if Kinko's does me right, issue #13 of CRC. Check out the Chrome Bianchi single-speeds while you're at it, too.Sunday night, (12 Oct) get thee to the Double Down Saloon to see Mpls. dirt rockers 4130, along with Orange Blossom Special, and Lane Eight. This also means we'll be out of the office until Saturday, 18 Oct. Just in time for the Homie Fall Festival. It ain't nothin' but a party, y'all.Let's get it on!-Hurl

Where were you?

The 2nd unofffical Minnesota state single speed championship was held yesterday in Milaca, Mn. Two 15 mile laps of everykind of terra firma dished out the abuse for the riders. This trail is a must do on any riders to do list. It\'s kind at the begining, but then just starts throwing everything at you as you get closer to the end. Hard core! The SS\'s and a small geared contingent went off together at the start. Hollywood Henderson and a guy named Lance took the lead from the start and it looked that it was going to stay that way all the way to the finish. But lady luck played her hand, Lance broke his chain on the 2nd lap, Hollywood lost his rear brake and I finished my refreshing beverage and held onto my so-called crown as the unoffical state single speed champion. Kiya M. was the uncontested womens champ. Did I mention that the PorkChopRacing.org crew also had a fresh keg of PBR at the start/finish and a most excellent beer stop at the highest point on the course. We were...
