Interbike

Posted September 26, 2005 @ 6:06am

Well this is just great. I've missed my 7:30 am flight; didn't give myself enough time to get to the aeroport on the LRT. Dammit, Bobby. So I'm back downtown until my 1:30 flight. Wish me luck. No dirt demo today for me, I guess... Meanwhile, check out the new Split Lip Rayfield site

Zeke/Franz Ferdinand/Vegas

And to think that many of these folks work in the bicycle industry. Be very afraid. And if you're at Interbike this week in Las Vegas, say hello. This band is out of control. Franz Ferdinand blew thru town last Wednesday, bought four bikes from One On One , put us on the guest list, shared their whisky, and closed down Nye's Piano Bar with us. True class.Monday, we're off to 'Vegas for Interbike. Look for sporadic updates from the desert.-H

HONKY/NEBULA

Posted September 12, 2005 @ 6:06am

Rilly doe, where were all the rokkurs at last night's Honky/Nebula show in the 7th Street Entry? It's no suprise that Hollywood, The Wrexican, & Trevor were on hand, but wherefore art K.K.? Christopher Cross? The Nordeast Superstar? Honky got tonky with their channelling of ZZ Top via TAD, and all was boss. Nebula blew minds with a feral sonic attack, including "Loose Cannon" off of their soon-to-be-released LP, Apollo. For consistent live shows, it's hard to beat the desert rock shredding style of Nebula. Finally, let it be said that the best record I've heard this year is "Closing In" by Early Man. Metal up your ass!

The 5-0 & GnomeFest & Hellriders, & all sorts of crap...

Posted September 11, 2005 @ 6:06am

MAAH DAAH HEY TRAIL VISTAGood nooze out of Kansas City. Our boy ZEKE is breathing on his own again, off the respirator. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go HERE. Suffice to say, he took a blunt blow to the dome, sans helmet and things weren't real copacetic there for awhile. Get well soon, Hoss. And where's my T-Mobile jersey?CRC Factory rider Breck Heintz jumps Hollywood HendersonOK, already, the 5-0. Yeah, Zito beat me. Fitzgerald beat me. They all beat me. Bailey got a steak dinner, but hey, at least I beat the Muni rider... Shit, I don't know what happened, other than my body went into lockdown at about mile 15. Unbearable cramping, first in the quads, then ultimately my entire lower body, calves, achilles tendon, everything. Throw in a rear flat, and you have a disastrous day. 6:55, a full hour and a half slower than last year's time. Fuck it.Some more upcoming action:Next weekend, September 16-18, you have CHEQUAMEGON to look forward to. 40...
