A SON'S TRIBUTE

Posted November 27, 2005 @ 6:06am

My father, Larry Everson, passed away tonight at the age of 73. I doubt I could express my feelings any clearer, so here is my brother Paul's tribute to our father:A SON'S TRIBUTEWhen the life is gone the love prevails, when the suffering ends, the memories abound. For when I look back and I reflect,I find solace in the gifts he left..The singing of Hank Williams my father loved,And passion for a catcher's glove. He loved Johnny Cash,He listened with passion,He had it in him to live with compassion. We caught frogs in the stream,we delivered care packages to the poor,he always said someone needs more.I love my father, for he gave me so much, and now that he's gone, his heart will always touch! He taught integrity and words of wisdom, now that he's gone we all will miss him.The great country music, the baseball and history he craved,Thanks dad for teaching me the same. Larry Everson passed away November 27th The silence of a falling star...

State CX

Yeah. Fuckin' killed it. The State Cyclocross Championship on Sunday at Bassett Creek was phenomenal. Kenwood Racing hosted the best bash of the year, with the Super Fan Tent, brats, beer, and bellicose race fans. I race the C race. C is for cigarette. Check out the HOLESHOT! I didn't preride the course and some errant tape flapping in the wind had me unsure where the first turn was. Not that it would've mattered. After a typical fast start I slid backwards, finishing 21st of about 40. Fantastic crowds make for fantastic fun racing. The rest of the afternoon was spent absorbing the rad atmosphere of the B and A races, beer in the crisp sunshine, hot racin' action, too. Congratulations to B race winner, State Champ Sean Burns. The bigshot A race was pretty sick, with multiple lead changes before former Junior World Cross champ Matt Kelly rode away from the stacked field. Minnesota expatriate Brent Prenzlow rolled in second sporting the H-Wood colors. Aric Hareland was looking...

It is widely claimed that God rested on the Sabbath, but there will be no god (and no rest, but there might be a little Black Sabbath) this SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!

Homie Fall Fest

Posted November 2, 2005 @ 6:06am

Dang, Pilgrim. A fine showing at the Homie Fall Fest this past Sunday. Nate & the Monkey Wrench Crue showed up from Lincoln, and plenty of old school faces mixed in with the nutters for the Hare N' Hound, and then on to the hobo camp trails. Photos hopefully soon, but until then, tonight you have Wayne "The Train" Hancock at Lee's Liquor Lounge. Saturday, November 5, go and see our good friends, Split Lip Rayfield, dammit!
