Dear Family and Friends of Loren, Loren has been pretty mellow since his surgery yesterday, and he spent the majority of today sleeping. He opened his eyes and was awake for an hour or two on a few occasions, but for the most part it was a day of rest. He's still hazy despite being weaned from his sedative, though this comes as no surprise. If I were to consume, say, gratuitous amounts of tequila and Percoset over a twenty-four/seven, eleven day bender, I doubt I'd jump out of bed the morning after, put on some slippers, and run downstairs to start frying myself an omelet. Loren will be casting off his hangover over the next day or two. And now that he's free of his ventilator, he'll start making greater strides towards wellness. He should be communicating with us verbally before long, albeit in a limited capacity. How beautiful will it be to hear his voice again?!! I can hardly wait. I'm back to work at a job in Aspen, though I plan to continue to update on Loren's progress in absentia. Nancy has taken over the task of pulling together Loren's website, and is partnering with a friend to fabricate something cool. Please be patient a short while longer.
