More Pain, less Locker

Posted October 24, 2005 @ 6:06am

Yeah, buddy. More hot cross action at Powderhorn Park on Sunday. Hats off to the Hub. Great course, a wee bit longer than Boom Island, and a fast descent to the first barriers. I hole-shotted the C race like some kind of Tommy Brackens Human Dragster, but alas, my rock-n-roll lifestyle got the best of me about 3/4 of the way into the first lap. I was in 4th after one lap and did a backwards surge to finish 12th overall. Hey, better than last week, and glad I switched out to a 19 in the rear (41 x 19). I was able to ride the uphill section on most of my laps, but was completely shelled by the time Wild Nick Bohrer rode past me and blew me a kiss. Special thanks to al the trackside hustlas shouting encouragement, and Extra Special thanks to Mark Rahn for the trackside keg and firepit. Next up: THE HOMIE FALL FEST. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30. Not at the usual spot, so you better axe somebody, YO!

Pain Locker

Posted October 17, 2005 @ 6:06am

I went into the pain locker again yesterday. Rode the Boom Island 'C' race on the 41 x 18 Cross Check. Geno rode the orange jumpsuit on the tall bars Cross Check in the 'C's, and then did the 'A' race riding a different bike each lap. The guy is a freak. I was airing off the tree well in the corner where all the One On One/Kenwood Racing groupies were congregated. Sensei Szeluga had too much rock for one hand. Crazy Dan was getting crazy, and the Pedal Swap Pit Crue kept busy for Geno all during the 'A' race. Good times, great oldies. Next week is the Powderhorn Park Cross. Check with the Hub Bike Co-op for deets.and don't forget this One.What else? Uh, the Homie Fall Fest is Sunday, Oct. 30. Brau/Sov/Cor are responsible so there's no flyer just yet. Maybe check the Surly Blog. And do check out Pilderwasser.

down for the CROWN vs. product outages

Posted October 11, 2005 @ 6:06am

kinichiwa, bitches. After years of toiling in the bike industry, universal bad man, and all around bicycle mofo Jeff G. Holt had won the CROWN. Look for bikes soon, at One On One Studio in Minneapolis.ACHTUNG: certain items from the CRC Kit page have been out of stock for awhile. We should have it sorted by the end of the month. If you've recently placed an order and have not received it, please let me know and I will give you an exact update. I apologize, and thank you for your patience. -Hurl PS: The HOMIE FALL FEST is returning on Sunday, October 30. More detail to follow once Brau/Sov/Cor get their act together. Stay tuned.PS#2: Boom Island Cross Race this Sunday, October 16PS#3: ZEKE/NASHVILLE PUSSY tomorrow night at the (shame) $400 Bar. No messenger bags or backpacks allowed, but since you have to go outside to have a smoke, just run around the corner to Palmers...

Tooth Ache

Posted October 3, 2005 @ 6:06am

well, I've made it home from Interbike with a swollen liver and a roaring tooth ache. If possible, I will have my wisdom tooth yanked this week. For those of you who have placed orders in the last week, I will ship them today or tomorrow; thanks for your patience.Interbike held no real suprises, other than nearly everything is wrapped in carbon fiber. It was awfully nice to see the return of the SOPWAMTOS (society of people who actually make their own shit) awards. Surly took home honors for Best US Bike Brand Made in Taiwan. There were several nice looking single speeds and 29" bikes. Maverick held a bitchen' pool party at a house rumoured to have once belonged to James Garner (Rockford!).
